Much like the one I wore in 1970-1972 in the US Army, then till it wore out while I worked as a QC Inspector in a factory making industrial and hydraulic hoses. I switched Seiko watches after that, but the Mickey Mouse watch, with its wider tolerances, handled the factory dirt better.

They are pretty much indestructible! Remember the John Cameron Swayze Timex commercials from the 1950s and later? They were a true representation of the watch brand’s qualities in my experience later.

Yes! I think it makes no sense to pay a lot for watches, having paid a lot for Seikos. Of course, I don’t wear one now since I have many other places to get the time.

Yes! I was surprised they went well beyond the 50s. I guess I wasn’t watching commercial television or I’d surely remember them.

LOL! Mine was my every day watch. The “crystal” got damaged as some point, allowing dirt in. That’s what finally killed it. The worst contaminant was a milled mica that was used as a lubricant on the cover of extruded hose at the factory where I worked.
